For a long time, I’ve felt a disconnect with social media. Not because it can’t create connection (in fact, I acknowledge social media is often the start of connection), but because of how much of it tends to be a facade of something real.. something that looks real, but isn’t quite lived.
The more I noticed it, the more it all began to feel the same.
A personal example of this, is how I felt when I took photos for the International House of Prayer in Kansas City in 2023... I was there to capture a prayer room. A prayer room that contained 24/7 prayer and worship from thousands of people from all kinds of walks of life. I thought a lot about how I wanted to approach that. I didn't want to mimic what I saw other Christian social media pages do, like everyone was mimicking the same template for Christian social media. I didn't want my photography to look the same because I knew every part of the body of the church wasn't the same. I wanted no pretentiousness, in any shape or form. I didn't want to make it look like something it wasn't.
When I got to photograph the prayer room for what it was, I noticed the inner battle within me started to diminish. I was freed by paying attention to life as it actually happened and not by what I thought the world wanted to see.
Because at the end of the day, I am a photographer who is deeply passionate about preserving moments as they are because that is what becomes heirlooms. Not just to take good photos, but to document a moment in time without pretense… and to do it with good craftsmanship.
This passion isn't just photography. For me, at the core—it's storytelling.
JUST LIVING LIFE IS NOT ENOUGH.
WE MUST KNOW WHAT WE ARE LIVING.
A LIFE THAT IS NOT REFLECTED UPON ISN’T WORTH LIVING.
IT BELONGS TO THE ESSENCE OF BEING HUMAN THAT WE CONTEMPLATE OUR LIFE, THINK ABOUT IT, DISCUSS IT, EVALUATE IT, AND FORM OPINIONS ABOUT IT. HALF OF LIVING IS REFLECTING ON WHAT IS BEING LIVED. IS IT WORTH IT? IS IT GOOD? IS IT BAD? IS IT OLD? IS IT NEW? WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

I believe there’s something important about documenting life honestly.
Not only creating something beautiful, but creating something true. A story that, years from now will still feel like it meant something. Like it held the weight of what was really there. I feel anointing to document your story as a modern scribe, a journal everyone can read. I want to transcribe your story rightly, beautifully, unpretentiously, and the way God Himself sees it.
